Project CineArt Green Films
Green Films
Being in the business of entertainment Moser Baer joined
hand with PVR Nest, a social wing of PVR cinema, to
evolve CineArt - an attempt towards converging cinema
and art for social change. The project brings children
closer to their city and heritage by engaging them in a
process of sensitization and learning, and finally
bringing out their voices through creative mediums. The
theme for Cine Art 2010 is Nature - what
nurtures and sustains us, but due to its neglect now
needs attention and preservation. Cine Art 2010 will
have a congregation of children from both schools and
NGOs, who will unleash their creativity to portray their
love for nature and send out messages to the people for
its protection and preservation. Cine Art 2010 (part 2)
was launched on 27th April, 2010 with eminent
personalities from art, media and education - Ms. Anita
Satia (Deputy Director, Education), Mr. Dadi Pudumji
(International puppeteer), Ms. Amita Joseph (Director
BCF) and Mr. Krishnendu Bose (Environment Filmmaker).
The event saw screening of the film - Jungle meets Rhino
followed by a question-answer round with its director
Mr. Krishnendu Bose. Children from twelve NGOs also
performed skits, dances, puppet show, and group songs -
all sending out the message of ‘care for nature’.
Cine Art 2010 will see a lot of activities and trainings
in Phase I and II and gradually Cine Art Ambassadors
will be molded towards movie making. Exercises will
include nature trails, nature writing, painting
sessions, storytelling, recycle workshop, and finally
trainings in filmmaking. Innovative ideas, messages,
poems and stories from children on nature will be
collected in the Green Box that will later be compiled
in the Green Book.
