As Chairman and Managing Director of Moser Baer India Ltd, Deepak Puri
provides strategic leadership and direction to the organization. He steers
the company with his vision of making Moser Baer one of the most respected
technology companies globally.
Mr Puri's erudition, drive and commitment to the industry, armed with a
client base of Fortune 500 companies, have led Moser Baer to continuously
create high shareholder value for investors. In addition, his strong
entrepreneurial skills, as also an undying commitment and belief in his
abilities, have been instrumental in catapulting Moser Baer to its present
position as a strong, established brand and a vendor of choice abroad.
Mr Puri is the driving force at Moser Baer in creating an environment of
integrity, fair business practices, respect for intellectual property and
a ceaseless quest for human capital development. Moser Baer, in its 25th
year of operations in India, has made its mark in the complex optical
media market, emerging as one of the largest optical and magnetic media
manufacturers in the world. Under his stewardship, the company has
recently diversified into areas of Solar Energy, Entertainment and IT
Peripherals & Consumer Electronics.
Mr Puri has been constantly endeavouring to highlight issues plaguing the
hardware industry and, in fact, the manufacturing sector at large. He has
been instrumental in spearheading activities that synergise and allow
Indian IT associations to work together in a more cohesive fashion, thus
enabling the hardware sector to have one vision and one voice.
Mr Puri is the chairman of Electronics and Computer Software Export
Promotion Council (ESC), a non-profit, autonomous organization of the
Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India. He is actively
involved with ELCINA and has also received an award from the industry
body-'The Electronics Man of the Year 2002' recognition. He has also been
crowned the IT Man of the Year by leading IT publication Dataquest. Under
his stewardship, Moser Baer has won the Dataquest Top 20's 'Fastest Growth
Company' Award for two years in a row.
Mr Puri holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Imperial
College, London, and is an alumnus of St. Stephen's College and Modern
School, New Delhi. |
