Rakesh Govil has been associated with Moser Baer India Ltd since August
1999, and is currently designated Executive Vice-President: Corporate
Strategy & Business Development for the Group.
Rakesh has more than twenty seven years of experience. He began his
career as a commercial banker with the country's largest bank, the State
Bank of India, where he was involved in commercial lending, capital
markets and Corporate Finance. He then joined HSBC, in its Investment
Banking Division and headed their operations in Southern India.
Subsequently he had a stint at Lazard, a leading worldwide financial
advisory and asset management firm. Rakesh has had experience in working
in both Asian and European markets.
At Moser Baer, he has handled various roles including treasury,
strategy, business development, mergers & acquisitions, investor
relations and corporate communications. He was instrumental in creating
the company's large investor base through multiple equity placements to
foreign institutional investors and was also responsible for setting up a
Joint Venture with Imation Corp, USA. Rakesh spearheaded Moser Baer's
foray into Photo Voltaics and negotiated the investments made in three
technology companies in the United States in this space.
Rakesh is a Masters in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics and
a certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. |
